My story with photography

Photography has always been part of my life

My grandpa, Mr. Julio, was a very smart carpenter and used to transform ideas into reality. One day, back in the 50's in the heart of Brazil's countryside, he met a man who was a photographer. Mr. Julio then, fast learned that so interesting process of photographing and developing the images. He bought all he needed to built his own camera and darkroom, and for long years he worked as photographer, as well. This historic fact of mine might explain how photography has naturally become my art expression.

My name is Ana de Oliveira. I was born in 1970 in Brasilia, the young and sui generis capital of Brazil.

I may say I am a nomad in my heart, I have always loved to travel. New places and new vibes always bring me inspiration. In this virtual gallery I present you the world I have witnessed in my wanderings. Please, enjoy!

Photography studies

I started studying photography in 2005 in Sydney, Australia. That was the first time I experienced the process of developing an image in the darkroom. It was magic!
